Jan 22, 2025
We are excited to announce the launch of a robust communications campaign in support of WSDA’s 2025 dental benefits reform legislation. This legislation is some of the most important we have ever proposed for the future of our members and their patients.

We are excited to announce the launch of a robust communications campaign in support of WSDA’s 2025 dental benefits reform legislation. This legislation is some of the most important we have ever proposed for the future of our members and their patients. Accordingly, this is the most comprehensive and aggressive campaign we have ever waged on your behalf!

Here are some key elements of the campaign, including content to share on your social media, in your office and more:

  • Paid Advertising: We are doing an advertising "takeover" of the front page of The Seattle Times website today, Wednesday, Jan. 22 (click here to check it out!). Other digital advertising will appear on The Seattle Times website in the coming weeks, as well as on additional key news sites.
  • Website: We have created a website —  www.FixDentalBenefitsWA.com — for the campaign. There you will find important information about our legislation as well as materials you can download to post in your office and share with your patients. There is also a way for you and for patients to contact your legislators and voice your support for this important legislation.
  • Videos: We have created a series of attention-grabbing videos that will run on various digital advertising platforms. You can  find this week’s debut video here and at the top of this post. You can also access it directly from the  campaign website.

Up Next: Bill Hearings & Dental Action Day

WSDA’s dental benefits reform legislation — SB 5351 and its counterpart, newly introduced HB 1535 — will soon be heard by the Senate and House Health Care Committees, respectively. Learn more about the details of the legislation  here.

We are grateful to have strong bipartisan support for the bills, including a majority of members of both the Senate and House Health Care Committees. WSDA will be represented by panels of member dentists during the upcoming hearings.

All members, whether attending Dental Action Day or not, can make their voice heard in support of these bills. We will share information soon with links to sign in and show support for dental benefits reform!

The upcoming hearings are just the first step in a long process. There will be multiple points throughout the legislative session where we will need you to weigh in and share your support. Stay tuned for specific calls to action.

Thank you again for your support of this important legislation, and for everything you do to enhance oral health in Washington.
