The Board of Denturists is considering updates to reduce licensure barriers for denturists and plans to address jurisprudence examination requirements. A notable consideration within this process is the adoption of substantial equivalency standard rules, aimed at ensuring compliance with Second Substitute House Bill (2SHB) 1724.

In an effort to align regulations with 2SHB 1724, the Board of Denturists has filed CR101, Pre-proposal Statement of Inquiry as WSR #24-10-064 on April 26, 2024. This filing would impact WAC 246-812-120 - Denturist Licensure- Eligibility and Application Requirements, WAC 246-812-125 - Denturist Licensure-Endorsement, and WAC 246-812-159 - Continuing Competency Requirements.

As part of the rulemaking process, the Department of Health invites active participation from stakeholders. This will be facilitated through workshops where ideas, concerns, and general comments regarding the proposed amendments are welcomed. Notifications for these workshops will be disseminated through GovDelivery.
