Indoor Mask Mandate to End March 12 – What Does This Mean for Dental Offices?

Mar 4, 2022
Updated: Governor Inslee announced that starting March 12, 2022, the statewide mask requirement will be lifted in most indoor spaces. Masks will still be required in health care facilities such as hospitals, long term care settings, and dental offices.

Governor Jay Inslee announced that starting March 12, 2022 (updated from March 21), the statewide mask requirement will be lifted in most indoor spaces including schools, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and gyms. However, masks will still be required in health care facilities such as hospitals, long term care settings, and dental offices. Respirators will also continue to be required for all health care workers, including dentists and their staff members, per the Department of Labor and Industries.

Additionally, the federal requirement to mask while using public transportation remains in effect. It is also important to note that local governments are still able to enact their own mask requirements, and private businesses can still require customers and employees to wear masks.
