Meet with Delta Dental of Washington at PNDC 2021

Since the start of 2020, we’ve:
- Launched Operation Toothbrush, a program that delivers oral care kits to children in need
- Partnered with Kaiser Permanente to create Health 360, a bundled medical and dental plan that focuses on whole body health
- Worked to give our members more of what matters to them by curating two new plans that offer coverage for orthodontia and reward them for preventive care utilization
- Committed to expanding our understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to better serve our employees and our members
- Partnered with the WSDA to provide face masks and other critical PPE to ensure all of our provider partners were safe and healthy after dental offices reopened
- Donated $1 million in grant money to the University of Washington School of Dentistry to address the dental hygienist and dental assistant shortage in our state
With the help of our Tooth Fairy Experience program, we’ve made oral health education accessible to nearly 40,000 children across the state. The program includes:
- In-person and virtual classroom and community presentations
- Online resources for parents
- Letters from the Tooth Fairy
- A Tooth Fairy hotline
- The quarterly Grin & Grow newsletter
- The Amazingly Awesome Clean Teeth Coloring & Activity Book made available to dentists to share with their young patients
- Two children’s publications – The Clean Teeth Club: A Tooth Fairy Tale and The Search for the World’s Greatest Smile: A Tooth Fairy Tale
And our partners at Arcora Foundation have made huge strides in bridging the gaps of oral health disparities to ensure everyone can have the smile they deserve. In 2020, Arcora Foundation:
- Provided $3 million in grants to safety net clinics to help keep essential oral health services available for tens of thousands of Washingtonians
- Connected over 18, 000 people with urgent and routine dental care through DentistLink
- Donated over $1 million to tribal clinics impacted by the pandemic to ensure innovate and culturally appropriate care
- Partnered with leaders in the dental community to offer continuing dental education courses on teledentistry, minimally invasive dentistry, and more to help dentists maneuver the ever-changing landscape of COVID guidance
