State-Appointed Dental Therapy Task Force Meetings Open to Public

Jul 23, 2021
A state-appointed dental therapy task force will hold its first meeting, which is open to the public, on Monday, July 26 from 2-4 PM.

During the 2021 legislative session, the final 2021-23 Operating Budget included a proviso to create a state-appointed task force that will “examine how to bring the current practice of dental therapy on tribal lands to a statewide scale in Washington state as well as determine the practice, supervision, and practice settings needed to maximize the effectiveness of dental therapy.”

The task force, comprised of the individuals listed below, will commence their work on Monday, July 26 from 2-4 PM PST.

Executive Director Bracken Killpack will serve as WSDA’s representative. While there are set representatives for the task force, it was recently decided by the task force facilitators that members of the public will be invited to share their thoughts and ideas with the task force through surveys and to observe all of the task force meetings to stay informed about the progress. A survey will be available at each task force meeting.
