Introducing WSDA Retro

Jan 30, 2020
Joining WSDA Retro gives WSDA members the chance to receive refunds on workers’ compensation premiums they pay to Labor and Industries (L&I).
WSDA Retro

Today we are excited to launch a new member benefit: WSDA Retro.

WSDA Retro is an association-sponsored workers’ compensation retrospective rating (Retro) program for member dentists. Joining WSDA Retro gives you the chance to receive refunds on workers’ compensation premiums you pay to Labor and Industries (L&I). Over time, your refund may cover the cost of your membership dues.

If you are a WSDA member who owns a dental practice, please help get this program started by signing your office up today.

What is the risk?

There is no risk to the individual. With WSDA Retro, the association assumes the risk for the group; it pays an assessment if claims exceed the standard premium and it will distribute refunds to members if claims are below the standard premium.

What is the cost?

There is no fee to enroll in WSDA Retro. This opportunity is only available to WSDA members, and a participating member’s refunds may even exceed the cost of their tripartite dues.

In order to launch the program April 1, 600-700 offices must sign up for WSDA Retro by March 6.

WSDA Retro is more than a potential refund — it is also support from workers’ compensation experts who are available to all WSDA Retro-enrolled members if they ever have an L&I claim. We have partnered with Employer Resources Northwest (ERNwest) to manage our group.

ERNWestERNwest is a Washington company that for the last 20 years has helped Retro members understand the program and implement best practices so they are poised to get great refunds. WSDA Retro will eventually cover the costs of ERNwest’s services supporting this program using a small percentage of the refund received from L&I.

WSDA Retro will provide members with yet another valuable benefit of membership in organized dentistry. Please help us launch this program by enrolling now.
