Description
Despite evidence that dental care is safe for the pregnant woman and her developing fetus, misconceptions persist about the need and benefits of care during pregnancy. This may lead to unnecessarily postponed care during a time when having good oral health is particularly important. We will discuss normal changes during pregnancy, and what the dental team needs to pay attention to in providing general, preventive and urgent care. The use of imaging, medications, nitrous oxide sedation and treatment planning will be among the topics discussed.
Learning Objectives
- Address concerns related to treating pregnant women and breastfeeding women
